Salkantay to Machu Picchu 5 Days & 4 Nights

DAY 1: Cusco – Mollepata – Soraypampa – Humantay Lake

After an early wake-up, you will head to Mollepata (2900m) to enjoy an optional breakfast before continuing to Challacancha, where you will begin today´s exciting hike. The morning´s walk will take around 3 hours and lead you to Soraypampa (3,600 m) your first accommodation where you will stay in Sky Camp.

After an energizing lunch and well-deserved rest, we will ascend to the impressive jewel of the mountain, the Humantay Lake; it is three hours round trip before descending for a tasty dinner and a well-deserved sleep. Lunch, Dinner

DAY 2: Soraypampa - Salkantay Pass – Huayracmachay - Chaullay

Today is the most difficult day, but you´ll be rewarded greatly with fantastic views and the most wonderful scenery. After breakfast, you ´ll be heading uphill for 3 hours to the Salkantay Pass (4600m), where you will spend some time taking photos of the incredible landscape and recuperating your energy.

Afterwards, you will descend through the cloud forest to the point of our lunch, before continuing to the edge of the Jungle amidst exotic scenery. Finally, we will arrive at Chaullay (2920m), where we will spend the night. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 3: Chaullay – Collpapampa - La Playa - Lucmabamba

Your Adventure continues today by hiking through the jungle of the Santa Teresa Valley, where you´ll observe a lush landscape of rivers, waterfalls, orchids, and many plantations, including banana, coffee, and avocado. You ´ll get to our camping site at lunchtime for a rest before you get to enjoy a free afternoon to explore your surroundings and the visit and organic coffee farm. You´ll get a good night´s rest this evening, listening to the sounds of the nature all around. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 4: Lucmabamba – Llactapata – Hidroelectrica - Aguas Calientes

Today things are getting more exciting as you hike along a part of the original Inca Trail. You´ll be walking up for 2 hours to an Inca archaeological site called Llactapata (2950m). You´ll learn all the about the history as well as get your first glimpse of Machu Picchu! You´ll walk downhill to lunch before making your way to Hidroeléctrica (1870m).

Fromhere, you can continue to walk to Aguas Calientes (2000m) around 3 hours or opt to board a train for US$34.00 extra. Tonight you´ll be dinning in a restaurant and sleeping in a hotel before the big day tomorrow. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 5: Aguas Calientes – Machupicchu – Ollantaytambo - Cusco

Today is the day you have been waiting for. You´ll finally visit one of the new seven wonders of the modern world, Machu Picchu. After an early start to the day, you´ll head to the citadel to avoid the crowds. One there, you´ll have a guided tour af approximately two hours and learn everything you need to know about the site while appreciating the wonderful scenery.

Afterwards, you can choose to climb and additional mountain of you booked your tickets in advance. You´ll make your way back down to Aguas Calientes for lunch and then catch your train to Ollantaytambo. From there, our transportation will take you back to your hotel in Cusco. It´s now time to rest after an unforgettable once-in-a-lifetime experience. Breakfast
